TransformTO Net Zero Strategy Public Consultation – Resident Survey

In response to City Council’s climate emergency declaration in 2019, the City is updating its TransformTO climate action strategy to meet an accelerated greenhouse gas emissions reduction target of net zero by 2050 or sooner. This includes reaching a short-term target to reduce emissions by 65 per cent from 1990 levels by 2030; a key milestone on the path to net zero.

From June 28 to August 4, 2021, the City of Toronto asked for feedback to help prioritize the short-term climate actions to meet our 2030 emissions reduction target. The consultation also asked residents to consider what these actions might look like in the community. More than 1,000 residents were engaged in this consultation. All this feedback has been compiled and summarized into a consultation report and will inform the TransformTO Net Zero Strategy that will be presented to Toronto City Council in fall 2021.
